Notice of Retirement Application Guidelines for Expatriates

The Military Council Department has introduced updated protocols for submitting retirement applications on behalf of expatriates stationed in war zones. These new procedures allow loved ones, friends, or relatives to apply for retirement due to the following circumstances:

  • Medical Retirement: If an expatriate/soldier under the U.S. Army’s command is facing significant health challenges, their loved ones may request early retirement to ensure they receive the necessary care and support at home.
  • Family Reunification Retirement: This type of retirement allows a soldier to leave active duty and return home to begin their next chapter, whether to reunite with a spouse or fiancé or to fulfill important family obligations.

To ensure the processing and approval of the retirement application, the applicant (loved ones/friends/relatives) must submit a refundable administrative fee. This fee contributes to the logistical support needed for the transition and the welfare of those who will continue to serve in the expatriate's place.

Thank you for your continued dedication and service to our nation.
